It has really been a hot minute since we have written on this blog. This is mostly due to the fact that we have been a little busy, not doing anything worth writing about. When we last left you the global pandemic had just been announced and we had introduced you to our new dog Ono. Ono is still living with us and knows so many tricks, thanks to us being home and having the time to teach them to her. This summer she did break a tooth but never fear, Bulgarian-Greek Border Dogs are extremely resilient. She had the equivalent of a root canal done by a vet and a human dentist and shows no sign of being affected by the ordeal.
We also did not do much (any) traveling this summer. The short of the long of it is we were going to leave Bulgaria at the end of July to find a new job. However, due to bureaucratic complications from the pandemic, obtaining visas was close to impossible. Luckily, ACS had a need for a social studies teacher. We spent some more time during the summer hoping we could get an extension of our original visas to stay in Bulgaria instead of having to go to the states and hoping we could get a new visa there before the start of the school year. Fortunately for us, things fell into place and we were able to stay and got an extension. So we have been living here in Bulgaria. Chris is teaching world history and Bulgarian geography. I am still working on completing my Masters in Library Science degree. We are both still doing our best to stay safe during the pandemic.
With all that said we wanted to give you an update on what we have been doing here. Although we are not able to travel the same way right now, we have been traveling with food. We have collected recipes and make things from all over. With all of those recipes I wanted them to be in one place, easy to access and search. Once I put them on a website, I figured why not share them with people. This Google Site has different sections and can be searched. It has Breakfast, Dinner and Dessert recipes. There are links to additional websites and links to recipes that are written up. Feel free to use them and let us know what you think! We hope you can travel with us through your food too!
