On Monday (July 17, 2017), Chris woke up to an email from the American College of Sofia (ACS). After waiting a few minutes for me to wake up he shared his news. ACS had some unplanned staffing changes and therefore required someone to teach some sections of World History to 11th graders and asked if he wanted to take on the larger work load. This left him two options, take on more sections of teaching and the work in the dorm or just remain a presence in the dorm and be a full time teacher. Chris chose the later due to the fact that he knew he could easily work with his replacement; me.
ACS offered me the job of dorm supervisor which is part time and also offered me the part time job of an English as a second language tutor. This means that I will do all the work that Chris mentioned in the previous post. Instead of teaching history though I will be helping students learn and work on their English in the classroom and at the dorm.
I am really excited because now I know what I will be doing when we arrive. We are both getting more and more excited as we get closer to August 20th. Stay tuned for more about our adventures!
